The best recovery food

The best foods for recovery. In this post I will introduce you to the #1 recovery food I use with professional athletes. Better than any supplement on the market when it comes to tissue healing.

The muscle, the joint, or the bone needs some rest to physically repair, so we have to reduce training load. But to physically repair the muscle, the joint, or the bone needs the right biochemical substrates. Just like you cannot build a brick house without bricks, you cannot heal bone without Calcium, Arginine, and Zinc. You cannot heal cartilage in joints without Glucosamine, Hyaluronic Acid, Chondroitin, Collagen, and Gelatin, and you cannot heal muscle/tendon without Collagen, Gelatin, Glutamine, and Zinc.

Now, where can we find all those substances in HIGHLY bioavailable form?

Is spot reduction possible?

Actually you CAN Spot reduce! Not by doing specific exercises a la "sit-ups to lose belly fat", but with changes of the internal hormonal environment. And we all know that. In Medicine, when someone is injected with cortisone, then he will gain belly fat, but his arms and legs will stay thin. This is called cortisone-associated central adiposity. EVERY doctor knows that.

Train Low, Compete High

We get the maximum result when we train our ability to burn fat and protein during preparation (train low carb) and add the carbs around 36 hours before key competitions (compete high carb). One could call this model „train low, compete high“ and I have been using this model with my athletes at least the last 8 years.

Should I drink Apple Cider Vinegar?

ACV is an acid. It helps break down foods and also activates other organs. That is what our stomach acid does as well. Stomach Acid breaks down large food particles (especially proteins), stimulates the gall bladder to secrete bile, and also neutralises bad bacteria.
